On Monday, Nov 13th Katie Campbell was recognized by Mrs. Deel on behalf of the National Society of the Daughters of American Revolution (DAR) for being selected as the DAR Good Citizen for Appleton City High School. Katie was selected for this honor because she regularly demonstrates the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.
Seniors from Butler, Hume, Adrian, Miami, and Rich Hill were also recognized during today’s ceremony. Each Senior read aloud a personal statement about the civic responsibilities of a good citizen. Andrew Wepener from Hume High School was selected as the local DAR chapter essay and scholarship winner. Andrew will now go on to compete at the state level.

On Wednesday, October 18th ten ACHS seniors participated in Build My Future in Jefferson City. The construction career day and industry showcase allowed the students to participate in educational displays, equipment operations, and hands-on learning labs. This trip was organized by Mrs. Deel, funded by a RootEd Innovation Grant, and was a great opportunity for the students to learn about various trades.
