Here's Your Appleton City Elementary Bulldog Friday Update!
Our Student Information System (SIS) provider, PowerSchool, is beginning to send email correspondence to parents letting them know that their servers had experienced a data breach. In the email, there is an offer of free credit protection for 2 years. The District does not have information regarding who was affected or what information was accessed, we just know we are a district who was affected.
If you have any questions, please call the number on the email.
Just a reminder, Spring Photo Day is tomorrow. Orders can be placed before or after photos are taken at inter-state.com/order. Please let your students teacher know if you wish to have your child's photo taken tomorrow.
Also, we hope to see you all this evening at our Family Reading Night! 6-7pm.
Congratulations to our fall sport athletes that qualified for Academic All-State. Football- Sam Setzer, David Connor, and Wyatt Davis. Volleyball- Kaylee O'Farrell, Alexis Turner, Lila Stephan, Kady James, Raeleigh Hill, and Raeah Hill. Softball- Cami Brownsberger, Kaylee Mott, Avery Wraight, Lainey Farrar, Hallie Harkrader, Natalie Nitchals, and Reegan Koshko. Congratulations to Tre Bollig! ACHS Senior Tre has been accepted to the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO. He is enrolled as undecided and will explore general studies in his first year. While his major is unknown, Tre plans to minor in music education. Congratulations, Tre. You have a bright future ahead of you!

Bulldog Families,
What a strange return to 2nd semester it has been! Our family has spent quite a bit of time on scholarship applications, college registration, senior activity boards, getting school work done and of course— chores over the last few days. No one played outside this time around. I think we are starting to get weary of the snow and freezing cold. Mid-Term grades will come home after we are back in session. I see that Optimist summer ball sign ups end today. See the link below or go directly to the Optimist Facebook page.
Title Family Night: Thursday, Feb. 27
The Title team is excited to host our Winter Wonderland family night! After spending the last week hibernating at home, let’s send winter out with a bang playing some fun reading games. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. The event will last until 7:15 p.m.
AMI Attendance:
Please make sure to have students return with completed AMI work this week. All 5 days of AMI have been utilized, so all 5 days of AMI work should be returned. If a student does not return the assigned AMI work, they will be counted absent for that day. We can’t wait to host our Title 1 Family Night this coming Thursday. Our Title team puts on quite the exciting spring event.
Spring School Picture Day:
Inter-State Studio will be here the morning of February 28th for spring photos. You may pre-order or order after the photos are taken. Please let your student’s teacher know in advance if you would like your student's photograph taken.

After getting back from driving routes this afternoon, gravel roads are still a cause for concern. Although I know we are all anxious to get back to school, our first priority is to ensure the safety of our staff, students, and student drivers.
No school on Friday, Feb. 21st. This will not be an AMI day.
Due to continued hazardous road conditions and extremely low temperatures, AC Schools will not be in session tomorrow, February 20th. This will be our last AMI Day (#5). Completed work is due upon return to school.

ACHS senior Jacque Self has been accepted to multiple schools, including Missouri State University, the University of Central Missouri, and the University of Missouri. Jacque will review each school's offer letter before determining where she will continue her education. Although her exact school isn't known yet, Jacque knows she is interested in learning more about the pediatric cardiovascular system and entering the health occupation field.

We could wait to post the inevitable, but the forecast isn't getting any better. We want to give everyone as much notice as possible, so...Due to the potential for heavy snow and dangerously low temps, AC Schools will not be in session tomorrow, Tuesday, February 18th. This will be AMI Day #3.

Due to the possibility of bad weather next week, Tuesday's basketball game against Osceola will be played tomorrow (Saturday, 2/15). JV Boys will play 2 quarters starting at 1 pm, with Varsity boys following. There will be no girls game and no gate will be taken.

Bulldog Families,
It was a fun day back at the Elementary! This afternoon specials teachers provided fun rotations and support staff served as guides taking groups to craft, story and game stations. Classroom teachers followed with classroom celebrations. See everyone at Pup Squad tonight!
Pup Squad
Pup Squad is still on! Our Elementary Pup Squad will perform during halftime of the Varsity Girls’ basketball game TONIGHT! Pup Squad will meet in the high school commons at 5:30pm this evening in the high school commons to go over their routine for this evening. The pup squad shirts are coming home with students today, so please check your student’s backpack for those. Go Bulldogs!
AMI Attendance:
If you forgot to send AMI Day #1 & #2 packets back today, make sure that they come back on Tuesday! The weather looks very cold next week. Please be sure to send coats, hats and gloves next week.
According to the weather forecast, we may be in for a few more days of snow! We have completed AMI days #1 and #2. In the event that additional AMI day is announced, please have students work on day 3 and so on, if additional days are needed. If a student does not return the assigned AMI work, they will be counted absent for that day.

Bus 2 has experienced an issue this morning. Another bus is on the way but pickups will be late. Students will not be counted tardy this morning.

Buses may run behind to ensure student safety. Take it slow!
Due to current road conditions along with refreezing of roads tonight, school will not be in session tomorrow, Thursday, February 13th. This will be AMI Day #2. Please complete Day 2 activities and bring completed work back to school upon return.
