Here's our Appleton City Elementary Bulldog Friday Update from Mrs. Bauer!
It's a great day to be a Bulldog!
Have a great weekend!

Dear Appleton City School Community,
As we approach the end of the first quarter of the school year, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the progress we have made and to express my gratitude for the support and dedication of our students, staff, and families. It is truly a blessing to serve this community in the role of Superintendent.
This year has begun with a strong sense of enthusiasm and commitment to excellence. Our teachers have worked diligently to create engaging and inclusive learning environments, ensuring that students feel valued and supported. I am proud to report that we have seen remarkable participation in our academics, extracurricular activities, and community events, which have all contributed to a vibrant school culture. We are so pleased to have Mrs. Bauer and Mr. Bolte leading their respective buildings. Both are doing a great job meeting the needs of our staff and students.
As we near the conclusion of the Fall Sports season, it is hard to believe how quickly time has flown. We are excited to celebrate our Senior Night for Volleyball on Thursday, October 17th at 5:30 PM with the game starting at 6:00 PM, followed by Senior Night for Football on Friday, October 18th at 6:30 PM with kickoff at 7:00 PM. I encourage everyone to come out and support and recognize our Senior athletes as they enter into District play. Additionally, our Junior High Volleyball and Junior High Football seasons have also wrapped up, marking a successful period for our younger athletes. It’s hard to believe that Basketball practices are starting up, with that season beginning soon.
We practiced our tornado and fire drills today, so students may come home talking about our drills. Looking ahead, I want to remind you that Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on October 28th. Further details will be released closer to that date, and I encourage all parents and guardians to participate in these important discussions about your child's progress. We invite parents to come in and meet with teachers and take a tour of campus. The partnership between home and school is critical in ensuring the success of every child in our District. While you are here, be sure to look at our renovations from Summer, including a fresh look in the Elementary hallway and some tile projects in the Cafeteria, Library, and classrooms.
We also have some other key events in the coming weeks, including Food for America on October 18th, National FFA Convention October 23-26, and Football vs. Jasper at 7 PM in AC on October 25th. We will update times for District play in Volleyball and Football when that information is known. As an additional reminder, bids for welders from the Ag Department, the surplus property school van, and track drainage bids are due to Central Office no later than end-of-day Tuesday.
As always, it’s a great day to be a Bulldog! Thank you for your ongoing commitment and support of our school. I look forward to celebrating our achievements and working together to ensure a successful remainder of the year.
Your Partner In Education,
Sarah Miller
AC Schools Superintendent

Seven ACHS seniors traveled to the Truman Sports Complex today to participate in Career Day at Dozer Day; With a pit stop at Sonic on the way home.
This multi-day event, hosted by NUCA (National Utility Contractors Association) of Greater Kansas City, provided students with valuable insights into the construction sector's diverse and abundant career opportunities. Students had the opportunity to visit with industry professionals, explore hands-on demonstrations and interactive exhibits, and gain insights into different construction career paths and their educational requirements.

RE: Homecoming Parade and Elementary Students
On Friday, October 4th, the Homecoming parade will start at 2:30pm. Elementary students and staff will be watching the parade together.
If your child is riding in the parade; OR you would like to watch the parade with your child, please arrive at the Elementary building by 2:00pm to sign your student out. If anyone other than a parent/guardian will be signing your student out, the parent/guardian must communicate that to the school through a note in the child's planner or a phone call to the office. Also, if your child will be returning to school after the parade, to be dismissed their regular (bus, car, or walker), please communicate that as well. We ask that those students who are not signed out prior to 2:00pm remain at school with their class until regular dismissal time. We apologize for any inconvenience this request may cause. However, we are hopeful that following this request can help us decrease any confusion and get all of our students where they need to be safely and in a timely manner. Thank you for your cooperation! Enjoy all of the AC Homecoming Activities! Go Bulldogs!
