Bulldog Families,
Welcome back to school! What a relief to finally be back in school after a cold and icy week. Thank you to all for your patience with our bus company as I know many of you have had to work with the driver on alternate pick up locations. This week you will see AMI packets coming home. The directions from central office are located on the front of the packet. In the event that we have another weather event that causes the cancelation of school, information will be shared regarding whether or not it is an AMI day and you will be referred to the directions in your child’s AMI packet. If you have questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

Bus # 3 will continue the alternate route stops through Thursday. Our driver is continually checking the route and will call to contact families if she is able to pick up / drop off at your students regular /home location. Thank you for your cooperation.

Today and tomorrow our route 3 bus will have limited stops, due to road conditions. Pick up / drop offs are:. 1. Everyone on 400 and 500 rd square at B & H intersection at the grain bins. 2. H & 100 Road. 3. Taberville Fire Department. Your driver will be reaching out shortly. For questions, call 417-955-1955.

Routes are running this morning but are encountering ice covered roads. Some dirt/gravel roads are inaccessible and buses may not be able to pick up this morning. If unable to pick up this morning, afternoon routes will likely be impacted. Bus 3 will be significantly late this morning. Sorry for any incovenience.

Tomorrow starts the 43rd Annual Appleton City Basketball Tournament! Make plans to come watch some great basketball this week!

The day started out promising with warmer temps/melting ice. However, after driving routes again tonight, our country roads are still ice covered and slick. With more snow in the forecast, AC Schools will have another snow day Friday, January 10th.
But rest up, Bulldogs...we'll get back to school soon! We miss you!

AC Schools will not be in session on Thursday, January 9th. While I was hopeful a little bit warmer temperatures would help melt some of the ice, our untreated gravel roads are slick/ice covered . Though anxious to be back in session, ensuring the safety of our students and staff is our #1 priority.

𝕊𝕖𝕟𝕚𝕠𝕣 𝕊𝕡𝕠𝕥𝕝𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥 Isabella Bartz will attend the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO, after graduation from ACHS. While at Mizzou, Izzy plans to study radiology within the College of Health Sciences. Congratulations, Izzy, your future looks bright!

After driving routes this afternoon, there are still many rural roads that are snow/ice covered. In order to maintain the safety of our staff and students, AC schools will not be in session on Wednesday, January 8th.
I'm hopeful one more day of warmer temps and sun will be enough to melt off the ice and we can get everyone back to school. In the meantime...stay safe and warm, Bulldogs! We can't wait to see you again!

Basketball games scheduled for this evening (January 7th) at Drexel have been cancelled.

Due to poor road conditions, the AC School District will not be in session on Tuesday January 7, 2025. We will have a traditional snow day.
District roads will need additional time to clear off before we can ensure students and staff members can arrive safely to school. Stay safe and warm, Bulldogs!
